Annika came back today, along with Justene! Emily came back from Morroco a day ago! Derek is moving in over the next 3 days, with his last day in Sonoma County being Thursday! Amber and Teesha are moving in until September 1st. Apparently Jess is moving to the city as well. Sanja has moved within 5 blocks of me, which is good when I need a TV buddy. Ryann comes back August 30th. These are the comings... The goings were pretty much isolated to one person. I was at fault for a fair percentage of the blame, if there is such a thing, but she said some things that boggled my mind and eventually flared up some resentment.... It's done now, and for the better I feel. C'est la vie. So the other day I did what I always do when my mind is afire with drama. I bought books. The Blind Watchmaker by Richard Dawkins, The Magus by John Fowles, Franny and Zoe by Salinger, Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon, and The Mountains of Madness by HP Lovecraft. I also bought some shoes. These things, as well as the company of Kimber made me feel much much better. School starts soon, it will be nice to have that change.... I meant to send out personalized invitations for the Space Party this coming Friday, but I went to Disneyland and ran out of time. So the invite is on Myspace. If you deserve one and didnt get one, I probably don't have your Myspace, so just ask! I'm going to try and hand out as many of the personalized ones as I can, though I had to toss a really really cool one the other day, and that made me sorta sad. C'est la vie ^ 2. I am so ready to have Derek living a door away. I am also so ready for bed. Peace! |

Urethral swab? Yes please! Signed up for Family Pact today, free condoms and STD tests! I love the doctors at SFSU, every single one has been completely awesome. I also love safe sex goody bags. So many neato gifts, all at once! So, I might as well help spread the word, at the Student Health Center at SFSU you can now sign up for Family Pact, a program for students granting free contraception, testing, and talking. All you do is go into the center, make an appointment for some STD testing or whatever, and inquire about your interest in Family Pact. Its definitely better for girls, way more free stuff, but free condoms is never a bad thing, and saving $50 on your STD tests is a damn good thing too. So go do it! It's always good to know your sexual health status, ALWAYS! |

Here's a little snippet of some Steinbeck I read earlier today.. I think you'll like.. "And this I believe: that the free, exploring mind of the individual human is the most valuable thing in the world. And this I would fight for: the freedom of the mind to take any direction it wishes, un-directed. And this I must fight against: any idea, religon, or government which limits or destroys the individual. This is what I am and what I am about. I can understand why a system built on a pattern must try to destroy the free mind, for that is one thing which can by inspection destroy such a system. Surely, I can understand this, and I hate it and I will fight against it to preserve the one thing that separates us from the uncreative beasts. If the glory can be killed we are lost." Yup. I really liked that passage. It's alot more relevant if you read the paragraphs before it too, talk of how are society has found ways to speed up the world through autonomy... but then he notes that nothing was ever created by two men, creativity lies only in the singular mind... If you have never read East of Eden, do yourself a favor and pick it up. It's really amazing. --- On a side note, bollox. Bollux on that, bollux on excuses, bollux on false conclusions, and bollux on attitudes. I call bullshit. ----- On a bigger side note, Carol at work was heard to say this when a gentleman ordered two burgers for himself: "Two burga?!? Brack people bary hungary!" (Classic!) |

Mmm ice cream..... Half-Baked, I do love you so! I've wanted to make some sort of journal entry every day for the past week, but somehow I just never felt like writing... I certainly did in the paper realm though, scribbled up a storm! Last week had some bad, but lots of good as well. It's funny how one day will leave you feeling so low, and suddenly there are several more days that bring you right back up to a much happier place. Good friends, and new friends, will do that to you.... work.. blah |

I started this morning in bed, with my mind wandering down pathways of thought it really shouldn't have been treading, pathways I've purposefully avoided the past month. This eventually led to looking at things I shouldn't have. End result = Hurt feelings and crazy state of mind. Damn me! Solution? Green Apple Books. I spent the past 3 hours meandering in both stores, it helped a bit. Book stores tend to do that. I noticed a couple of oddities as well. The section where books by PG Wodehouse would reside held 0 books by him, but 6 different biographies about him. I find that to be a bit bizarre, don't you? I also discovered that the store had no used copies of Dune, only 3^10 copies of Heretic Diety Star Fucker of Dune, Messy Bung Tractor of Dune, and that stupid Dune book written by his son. Damn you! I want the original! I ended up grabbing a fist full of Steinbeck material, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress (by Heinlein), ANOTHER first edition Douglas Adams, and a donor copy of Stranger in a Strange Land. My plan for the next few days? Read a shitload! Losing myself in bookery is pretty great. I'll probably try and be "all emo and shit" by finding some coffee shops to sit in and sip hot chocolate. Yay! First book? The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Probably the best follow up to Stranger in a Strange Land, it will allow me to really revel in the Heinlein glory. Damn, I'm such a headcase sometimes. |

I'm waiting for my bathwater to cool at the moment, so I can take a bath and eat half a burrito simultaneously. I suspect I've been wanting to do this my whole life.... The last couple of days (More like 8 actually) have been rather fun! Derek has come to visit twice, Annika and Justene came for the weekend, I've had several date type outings with (the) Jane, and I have yet another day off tommorow. *Annika found a new place to live, I'm very happy for her! Hopefully the price tag doesn't haunt her too much! *Derek watched as I was on the receieving end of a heart to heart with a Security guard at Death Guild last night. Wow. I was pretty amused by it actually, despite the fact that the man in question could break me in half no problem. I thought stuff like that only happened in movies... *This art movie at the Moma (involving Bjork) sucked my soul straight out of me earlier today. It removed my will to live, and my will to look at art. The same happened to Ryann, cuz after we left early she jetted right away. I stumpled about the place with Kimber and Bruno for a spell but my heart was nowhere to be found. Luckily a bit of laying out in the sun with Jane (mostly) restored me to life. The final measure is this bath with this burrito. Extreme measures for extreme mental damage. I think the water is happy now.... Toodles! |

My brother just called me to tell me the financial aid packet arrived.....Tuition is paid for, and there is a bit of $$ to spare! Woot Woot! Thus ends the saga of my frantic financial aid battle. Many thanks to the helpful souls at Financial aid office who assisted me, and my mom for getting all the paperwork to me crazy fast. Woot!~ **As to classes, even with superman priority (last Friday) I still only got into 2 of the classes I wanted. I had to sign up for some backup fluff! Right now I have Evolution (Wanted), The Vampire Tradition (Wanted) and the backup classes Molecular Genetics, Medical Entomology, and Myths of the World. If I can crash my way into Biometry and Endocrinology I'll have to rearrange everything, but I'll worry about all that jazz later. It seemed to me that nobody got any of the classes they wanted this semester. I've had much better luck registering every semester except this one. SFSU is going down the tubes! Nick and Derek crashed over for the night. We hung out a bit, good to see those fools. This morning Nick and I went and picked up his bike at this bike shop called Scuteria... very cool. His bike is ginormous, what a crazy piece of machinery. Nick has plans to sail the world in a large boat... we'll see how that turns out... I feel sort of Bleh today. Maybe thats because I've failed to go to the gym every single day this week! ACk! I'm a horrible slacker and I deserve to die! But then again, my head is feeling wonderful! I've had a great week! Making a lasagna for Jane was hella fun, and someday in the future it means she will make me a lasagna... Awesome sauce! And now for some pictures... If you want to see the rest of the gallery, click through! Everything is on Kylekyle.com! ( The rest of the photo's were huge, so a cut shall prevent whining I suspect!Collapse ) |

I've had a pretty awesome couple of days this past week. I made a lasagna last night that I considered to be a complete triumph. It made not have been "the best," but it sure had some magic in it! Houseguests are the word for the weekend! Tonight it was Derek and Nick, while the rest of the weekend will consist of Annika and Justene! It will be good to see Annika after 2 months of late night phone rantings! Annika is always there for me at 3am after the gothy clubs when I'm like "Advice now woman!".... I'm just mumbling now... time for bed....

Hmmmm... turns out my financial aid is on hold because of documents I already turned in... Uh oh! Because of this I don't have a financial aid deferrment, and payment was due on Friday. This may mean I won't be able to register on Friday like I'm supposed to. Uh oh! I'm going to the financial aid office to wage war on Monday. Hopefully this all works out!

I swear to god, I keep getting handed these random coincedences where I could make a new friend, meet someone cool, or whatever, but I fail to act. On three separate occasions in 1 week I have failed to act. What the fark is my problem? Oh right, haircut rocks because hair is shorter.... |
